How do you remove epichlorohydrin?
 
 
Phenols and acids are generally condensed with epichlorohydrin and dehydrohalogenation in excess epichlorohydrin. After the dehydrohalogenation, the excess epichlorohydrin is removed by distillation, and water is added to dissolve the salt formed in the dehydrohalogenation reaction.
