Product Description

 

(1) Hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene is a liquid at room temperature, so organic solvents are not required during processing, avoiding environmental pollution, fires, explosions, and other hazards caused by solvents.
(2) The liquid characteristics also make it applicable to processes such as casting or injection molding, which are easy to process and can be continuous, automated, and mechanized, thus saving manpower and energy and reducing product processing costs.
(3) The terminal hydroxyl groups of prepolymers are relatively easy to react smoothly with isocyanates at room temperature, especially with aromatic isocyanates, which have higher reactivity. Therefore, they can be used to make room temperature cured coatings and adhesives.
(4) The molecular skeleton of hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene does not contain ether or ester bonds that are commonly found in polyurethane molecular skeletons, therefore it has good hydrolytic stability.
(5) Hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene has good mechanical properties, with a reinforcement system tensile strength of up to 200 kg/cm, elongation of 560%, and a glass transition temperature of -70 ºC. Therefore, it can be used to make cold resistant rubber products, coatings and adhesives.
(6) Hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene, like other solid rubbers, can be reinforced with fillers such as carbon black, zinc white, and glass fiber.
(7) The molecular skeleton of hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene is similar to that of general solid rubber, therefore it has good electrical insulation performance and can also be made into various electrical insulation materials.
